Mr. Machiel Woudman
Mr. Machiel Woudman graduated in tax law and started in 1992 as a tax inspector at the tax authorities, in recent years with the Large Businesses department, responsible for corporate tax levies and assessments of reorganisations of foreign banks in the Netherlands. As such, Machiel has written an article on the stripping of dividend distributions on shares. In 2002 he moved to the Public Prosecution Service and worked for 23 years as a public prosecutor in Amsterdam. His duties as a public prosecutor involved investigating and prosecuting criminal offences in the fields of fraud, economic crimes and serious offences such as assault, robberies, violations of the Opium Act and violent crimes. Machiel also oversaw the extension of TBS measures for several years as a public prosecutor.
In addition, Machiel specialised in maritime criminal cases, and he also has extensive experience in criminal cases involving public violence and has supervised various large-scale events on behalf of the Public Prosecution Service. Finally, it is worth mentioning that Machiel was responsible for assessing requests concerning seized goods. Machiel is affiliated with Osprey Advocaten/Attorneys at law as a legal advisor.
