Mr. Saskia Bijl

Mr. Saskia Bijl began working as an attorney at law immediately after her studies in the Netherlands Antilles, practising in both civil and criminal law. Back in the Netherlands, Saskia continued her criminal law practice in Amsterdam. In 2010, she completed the Specialisation Course in Criminal (Procedure) Law at the Willem Pompe Institute and is a member of the Dutch Association of Criminal Lawyers (NVSA). Saskia also represents victims in criminal cases. She is affiliated with the National Lawyers Network for Victims of Violence and Sexual Offences (LANGZS). From 2013 to 2016, she was a member of the Supervisory Committee of PI Amsterdam-Overamstel, a committee that handles complaints from detainees. In addition to this committee, she regularly served as chair of the Complaints Committee. From 2020 to 2024, Saskia was also an extraordinary council member of the Council for the Administration of Criminal Justice and Youth Protection (RSJ). As a professional judge, Saskia dealt with complaints from detainees.

From 2016 to 2024, Saskia was a (juvenile) deputy judge in the criminal law department at the Rotterdam court. From 1 September 2025, Saskia entered into a collaboration with Osprey Advocaten/Attorneys at law under article 5.3(b) Voda. Saskia has registered the following main (and sub) legal fields in the legal areas register of the Netherlands Bar Association: criminal law, juvenile criminal law and victim law. Based on this registration, she is required to earn ten training points each calendar year in accordance with the standards of the Netherlands Bar Association for each registered main legal field.
